This file shows extent of wetland mapping completed for Duluth and surrounding watersheds which flow through the city.

Associated Data Sets  base maps used for mapping were rectified, infra-red color DNR aerial photographs

Section 2  Data Quality Information - - - - - - top
Attribute Accuracy  The data was field checked according to original agreement between City of Duluth and NRRI.  Accordingly, 10 percent of the polygons were field verified.  Check plots were compared to insure completeness of data and check for label errors.
Logical Consistency  Data are topolocially correct using Arcview GIS software. All polygons are closed and lines intersect where intended.
Completeness  All photo-interpretable wetlands are mapped. In the treeless areas, 1/8 acre wetlands are mapped. In forested areas, small open water and emergent wetlands are mapped. In general, the minimum mapping unit is from .5 to 2 acres.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy  Horizontal positional accuracy for the digital data is tested by visual comparison of the source with hard copy plots.
Vertical Positional Accuracy  Not Applicable
Lineage  Digital wetlands data were manually digitized on screen into topologically correct data files using Arcview software.  Polygon labels were added following National Wetland Inventory (NWI) standards.
Source Scale Denominator  15,840
